The Aeolian Pipe Organ

Plays Duo-Art Organ Music

Played on

Aeolian Pipe Organ
Opus 1431

Recorded in Exeter, Devon, UK

The Aeolian Pipe Organ was justifiably called "The Home Orchestra of the 20th Century". Before High-Fidelity sound recordings became available, the only way to hear orchestral and operatic music in a domestic setting, on demand, was through paper rolls played on one of these marvellous instruments.

The Duo-Art paper roll system made possible the faithful recording of famous organists of the day, many of whose performances have been captured on this CD.
