The Aeolian Pipe Organ
Plays Duo-Art Organ Music
|
Played on Aeolian Pipe Organ Recorded in Exeter, Devon, UK
The Aeolian Pipe Organ was justifiably called "The Home Orchestra of the 20th Century". Before High-Fidelity sound recordings became available, the only way to hear orchestral and operatic music in a domestic setting, on demand, was through paper rolls played on one of these marvellous instruments. The Duo-Art paper roll system made possible the faithful recording of famous organists of the day, many of whose performances have been captured on this CD.
